One runner today at Uttoxeter.

Apart from his first outing of the season Roger has had a disappointing campaign over the winter but to be fair to him when the horses were not right his blood tests and tracheal washes were amongst the worst of the whole yard, so he has had his excuses.

We thought he was back in good order again ahead of his latest race at Southwell but he was very quiet at the start, which is unlike him and he was lacklustre in the race before pulling up.

He was found to be suffering from ulcers afterwards which have been treated but we won’t know if that was the reason until he shows his old sparkle again on a racecourse.

Roger has been in good form recently but in all honesty you would never have known there was anything wrong with him during the winter and he’s never looked poor in his coat or himself… they do test you at times.

Roger is a confidence horse and at the moment we just need to see that enthusiasm again on a racecourse, Johnny is back on board, he knows him well so he’ll know early on if Roger is back to his old self.

He will be ridden by Jonathan Burke.

Peur De Rien is looked after and will be led up by Cameron Johnstone Baker and he is ridden at home by Tarnya.
