Three runners today at Wetherby.

Geordielad came from Jamie Osborne’s yard with a lowly rating of 44 on the level.

He was quite keen in his races on the flat and we were expecting him to be really strong at home when he arrived but he’s been a total bus, he just lacked confidence and he was nervous around other horses.

Geordielad has become really relaxed now and he’s shown a very willing attitude with regards to jumping.

It will be interesting to see how he takes it all and I hope he enjoys the new experience.

Bean showed a good attitude when winning a bumper at the second time of asking at Ascot, he had to make his own running that day and as the small field joined him two furlongs out he really stuck his head out and raced to the line.

He is a half brother to a listed winning filly I trained called Mischievous Milly and she had that same desire to win.

Bean has been full of himself since that race, it’s amazing what confidence can do for a horse, he’s been bouncing around all over the place.

He’s always schooled well, he’s not over big but he jumps like a cat and seems to enjoy it.

Bean is quite a cheeky horse but he isn’t nasty he’s just a cocky little devil.

Road To Rome joined us a couple of months ago from Will Kinsey, who is now concentrating on buying and producing store horses to re sell.

Road To Rome is a big tall horse who has been given plenty of time to mature, he has only had seven races and he’s been placed on four occasions.

He has at times looked one paced at the end of a race but that could have been weakness, his jumping is very good and I imagine he will go chasing soon.

Road To Rome is a lovely horse to do anything with, he has a good honest attitude to his work.

They will be ridden by Leighton Aspell.

Geordielad and Jersey Bean are both looked after by Harry Beswick who also rides Geordie at home, they will be led up by Gracie O’Reilly who rides Bean at home.
