28th January - Leicester
Two runners today at Leicester.
Prince picked up a minor strain to his tendon which has taken a long time to heal.
It’s 524 days since he was last seen on a racecourse and even though he’s done plenty of work, he is bound to improve for the race.
Prince can be quite keen and he’s bound to be fresh today hence the step back in trip, his jumping is usually good, he’s very exuberant over his obstacles.
Prince is a horse that does have ability and it will be great to get him back on track for his enthusiastic owners they are a lovely bunch who have been very patient.
Prince is a tall good looking horse, he’s pretty good to ride but he can be very strong at times particularly on the grass gallops.
Ventura looked booked for a place at Wetherby last time out when giving himself a nasty bang under his joint, he pulled up sharply before the line and Leighton dismounted.
It took a while to heal and he had to have a course of antibiotics.
Ventura had run really well on his previous outing to that at Hereford when finishing a good second, finally showing somewhere near the ability he had shown on the flat before joining us.
Ventura is a sweet horse to do anything with, he’s easy to ride and kind in his stable.
They will be ridden by Leighton Aspell.
Prince is looked after and will be led up by Flora Alessandroni, he is ridden at home by Gracie O’Reilly or Harry Beswick.
Ventura is looked after, will be led up and is ridden at home by Mila Lunackova.
