28th November - Taunton
Republican hung violently to the right in his last race at Huntingdon having travelled extremely well early on.
We have checked his back & teeth he’s seen a chiropractor and has had massages, nothing major has come to light so I have to hope it was a one off.
Republican has ability and he’s continued to school and work nicely since, he can be a bit of a playboy at times and maybe he was just being a goon.
Republican is a stunning looking horse, he’s usually good to ride but he can be very naughty at times.
Monkey ran in snatches last time out at Wetherby, he was on and off the bridle and hung both ways.
Again he was thoroughly checked over and his wind was checked out, as is usual when horses run well below par.
Nothing came to light.
Monkey has always jumped his hurdles like a chaser so I’m hoping fences bring about a return to form for him because he has got talent, he will prefer to be going right handed.
Monkey is as his name suggests, a bit of a bugger at home....he’s a loveable rogue.
The ground everywhere is pretty testing right now, both of these would prefer decent conditions and as Taunton don’t water this will be better ground than most other courses at the moment.
They will be ridden by Leighton Aspell.
Republican is looked after and will be led up by Lenka Helmecka, he is ridden at home by Beth Dutton.
Monkey is looked after and will be led up by Beth Dutton, he is ridden at home by Clare Robinson.
