Two runners today at Ffos Las.

Bembridge won on his final start over hurdles back in May, (which means he’s still a novice for this season).

He had been knocking at the door previously so it was nice for him to finish on a good note, he jumped well on that occasion and he was galloping away from the field at the finish.

Bembridge will make up into a nice chaser but I want him to gain a bit more racing experience first, he’s a bit mentally immature.

Bembridge was quite buzzy at times last winter but he’s settled down more now and I do think he’s grown up a lot, this is a good starting point for him and we’ll see how he progresses this autumn before deciding whether to go chasing this season.

Bembridge is a sweet horse to deal with, he’s a big horse who can be strong at times on the gallops but Tara has done a good job with him.

Newtonian finished second in his only race to date a bumper at Fontwell, he looked very green on that occasion and the penny didn’t really drop until the final 100yds.

As you know my bumper horses are not trained to the minute so it was an encouraging first outing.

Newtonian is a very honest out and out galloper who has schooled nicely enough so he will begin his hurdling campaign after this.

Newtonian is so laid back at home he’s completely horizontal but he does wake up a bit in his work and he goes nicely enough.

They will be ridden by Jonathan Burke.

Bembridge is looked after and will be led up by Marcel Danihel, he is ridden at home by Tara Moore.

Newtonian is looked after and will be led up by Shannon Pascotti, he is ridden at home by Alfie Jordan or Shannon.
