Four runners today.

Chepstow 12.50pm Kaphumor runs in a maiden hurdle over 2m 3f.

Kaphumor won his only start to date, a point to point at Larkhill before being sold to The Million In Mind syndicate.

He is a good looking son of Kapgarde who is very laid back at home, he works nicely and jumps very well.

Kaphumor won his point on good ground but I’ve no reason to think he wouldn’t handle softer conditions.

He will be ridden by Brendan Powell.

Bangor on Dee.

After a decent novice hurdle campaign (Whats Occurring) Gavin won his only chase at Ludlow before picking up an injury and having last season off.

Because he’s only had one run over fences I’m keen to get some experience into him over the bigger obstacles, this is a decent race on paper but I’d rather run here in a small field than with sixteen runners in a lesser race.

Gavin is a sweet horse at home, he’s quite a sensitive horse who can be a bit over exuberant on the schooling ground when he’s fresh.

Bayaanaat ran ok in his only hurdle race so far up at Doncaster in the spring when finishing fifth, he jumped alright on that occasion but he’s the type who will improve with racing and possibly once he’s handicapped.

Bayaanaat is an easy horse to deal with he’s kind in his stable and good to ride.

Spice War finished fifth last time out at Fontwell and I was initially disappointed because he didn’t finish his race but he had in fact lost a front shoe and struck into himself so he did have a valid excuse.

Spice has won a couple of staying all weather flat races so hopefully this step up in trip today will suit him.

Spice is a nice person at home and he’s good to ride.

What’s Occurring and Spice War will be ridden by Jonathan Burke, Bayaanaat will be ridden by Daryl Jacob.

Kaphumor is looked after by Kai Lenihan, he will be led up by Gracie O’Reilly and he is ridden at home by Lenka Helmecka.

What’s Occurring is looked after, will be led up and is ridden at home by Mila Lunackova.

Bayaanaat is looked after, will be led up and is ridden at home by Cameron Baker.

Spice War is is looked after by Mila Lunackova, he will be led up by Beth Dutton and he is ridden at home by Josh Apiafi.
