One runner today at Newbury.

Prince is a horse with ability but his form has been inconsistent throughout his career, there have generally been excuses for his poor efforts but it does mean he’s a difficult horse to have complete confidence in before a race.

He will be wearing first time cheek pieces today.

After his most recent disappointment at Warwick Prince was found to be lame behind, this took a combined effort from my vet, chiropractor and physio to get him back right again ... but touch wood we’ve had no issues with him since that race.

Prince is a very tall good looking horse who qualified for this race by winning nicely at Huntingdon on his first outing of the season under Harry, he’s a good work horse and he’s very enthusiastic on the schooling ground.

It would be very appropriate if he were to run well today because one of his owners, Stewart Murphy will be celebrating a big birthday tomorrow and a good run from Prince would be the icing on the cake.

Happy birthday Stew ????have a good one.

He will be ridden by Harry Beswick.

The Fresh Prince is looked after by Cameron Baker, he will be led up by Beth Dutton and he is ridden at home by Josh Apiafi.
