One runner today at Market Rasen.

Vinnie won his latest race at Uttoxeter after finishing a promising fourth on his seasonal debut at the same course.

I’ve explained previously that Vinnie is a work in progress, he is a horse that has talent and can jump extremely well but he can lack concentration at times.

In his last race the commentary said he was making mistakes down the back straight but in actual fact Johnny was deliberating trying to get him tight into the bottom of his fences to teach him something and get him to think, once he turned into the home straight he met all bar the last on a great stride.

His mistake at the last was typical of an error that is made when a race is already won.

Vinnie went up by 8lbs for his win and is now on a career high, this is a competitive race, as you would expect for the prize money so he still has more to prove.

Vinnie is an improving horse but he is far from the finished article yet.

Vinnie is a nice person to deal with, he can be a bit gassy and strong to ride and Meg does a good job with him.

He will be ridden by Jonathan Burke.

Vinnie is looked after, will be led up and is ridden at home by Megan Brown who will be hiding somewhere and relying on Amy for a commentary, she won’t watch him because she gets so nervous ????
