Three runners today.

Toviere has had two runs over fences at Fontwell and Huntingdon, he jumped well on both occasions he was just beaten by better horses at level weights. Today is a handicap so in theory he is better off but I don’t think he is particularly well handicapped.

He has only run over 3m once before and seemed not to get the trip but I think he is a stronger horse now and everything about him tells me he will want this trip.

Toviere has been in good order at home since his last race, he’s a sweet horse to do anything with although he can be strong on the gallops at times.

Hitherjaques was a consistent mare last season being placed twice before winning two over hurdles (ignore her final run in the mares final the ground was too quick for her that day).

Hitherjaques would ideally prefer softer conditions than she will encounter today but first time out on testing ground can find them out and she is a mare that takes a lot of work so she will definitely improve for the race.

Hitherjaques is a stunning looking mare, she is very straightforward to deal with and I would love to send her chasing sooner rather than later, I just have to persuade her owner to let me.

They will be ridden by Leighton Aspell.

Fort Smith was bought out of Ireland by Harry’s father for home to ride, like Enjoy Responsibly he was rated a lot higher then and has now slipped down in the handicap to a more sensible mark.

Fort Smith is a good jumper and he needs decent ground, he has done plenty of work at home but he hasn’t run for 289 days so he will improve.

I think he will want further than this but the conditions of this race suited him.

He has had a wind op since his last race but prior to coming to me.

He will be ridden by Harry Beswick.

Toviere is looked after by Gracie O’Reilly, he will be led up by Jan Soldan and is ridden at home by Pippa Glanville.

Hitherjaques is looked after and will be led up by Elle Lloyd, she is ridden at hone by Charlotte Reid.

Fort Smith is looked after by Jan Soldan and he will be led up by Gracie O’Reilly (she acts as second travelling head girl when we have two meetings) he is ridden at home by Elle Lloyd.
