Three runners today at Huntingdon.

2.40pm Got Away runs in a mares listed chase over 2m 4f.
We’ve had a torrid time with Gloria so far this season, she’s had silly niggly issues which have stopped her running on a couple of occasions, including last time at Sandown in a four runner race.
I also had to take her out of a listed mares Chase at Doncaster when the ground went good to firm, she’s a big heavy topped mare who wants proper winter conditions.
Gloria was running a huge race at Punchestown last spring when falling four out, she’s the best jumper you will ever see but she occasionally loses concentration and forgets her landing gear.

She ran well below par on her only outing this season at Carlisle and about two days later she had lots of pus in both of her front feet which was probably brewing at the time, therefore the run is best ignored.

Gloria is a big good looking mare who has a lot of talent, once everything clicks into place she has a good race in her.

3.15pm Jersey Bean runs in a handicap hurdle over 3m 1f.
Bean ran below par at Cheltenham last time out, Richard (who hadn’t ridden him before) said he felt flat and was never really going.
Nothing came to light so I have to draw a line under it and hope it was an off day.

Bean had been in tremendous form previous to that run, he’s an honest horse who jumps and stays exceptionally well.

He wouldn’t want too much cut in the ground.

They will be ridden by Leighton Aspell.

3.45pm The Groovy Hoovy runs in a handicap hurdle over 2m 4f.
Groovy was found to be suffering from a trapped epiglottis after his last race at Taunton when pulling up.
The procedure to correct it is very simple and I’ve had good results with horses that have run subsequently.
They do however sometimes need a run to give them the confidence it’s not going to happen again.

Groovy was brave first time out at Southwell when winning for the first time, he looked booked for a place off the last bend before really putting his head down and galloping all the way to the line and he won going away.

Groovy is so laid back at home he’s horizontal, he’s got a lovely nature in his stable and basically just eats and sleeps.

He will be ridden by Tom Garner.

Got Away is looked after and will be led led up by Mila Lunackova, she is ridden at home by Andy Llewellyn.
Jersey Bean is looked after, will be led up and is ridden at home by Gracie O’Reilly.
Groovy is looked after and will be led up by Marcel Danihel, he is ridden at home by Jana Stefanova.
