One runner today at Ludlow.

3.40 What’s Occurring runs in a novice handicap chase over 2m.

Gavin won a couple of early season novice hurdles last autumn on his favoured good ground.
I thought he ran a blinder in the Gerry Fielden (a listed hurdle) at Newbury when finishing fifth, he looked like being fourth until 200yds from the line but the unsuitably tacky ground didn’t help him.
With hindsight I lost him after that run, he’s a tall horse who was on the weak side and I don’t think he recovered fully from the exertions in the conditions.
I gave him a break after that and then tried to pick up another lower grade race to boost his confidence but with a double penalty and a rating of 127 there is no such thing.

Gavin is a horse that is still improving and I’m not certain what his best trip is yet because he was weak last season, his schooling has been good and he does run well fresh.

Gavin is quite a delicate horse, he takes life seriously but is kind in nature and gentle to deal with.

He will be ridden by Leighton Aspell.

Gavin is looked after and will be led up by Nikola Studena, he is ridden at home by Mila Lunackova.
