runner today at Ludlow.

Minella ran with credit on his first outing for us at Warwick when finishing fifth, it was a competitive race and he hadn’t run for two years.

Minella won a point to point before being bought by Trevor Hemmings for £100k he went to Paul Nicholls who struggled with lameness issues with him.

He returned to Gleadhill Stud and after investigation he was found to have bone chips in his knees, they were removed and he was given time to recover.

Minella was sent to me last autumn before Mr Hemmings decided to have his dispersal sale, I had had no issues with him until that point so I bought him back.

Minella is a very straightforward horse, he’s not flash in his work or schooling but he does everything he’s asked to do and he’s kind, honest and willing.

He shapes like a proper stayer at home and as the cliche goes whatever he does over hurdles is a bonus because he’ll make a nice chaser.

He will be ridden by Brendan Powell.

Minella Royale is looked after by Cameron Baker, who is away at the racing school so he will be led up by Jan Soldan, he is ridden at home by Tarnya.
