Two runners today at

Cheltenham.

Jersey Bean came back from his summer holiday looking absolutely fantastic but also as if he was about to have twins, he has done as much work as I can possibly do with him at home but he will improve for the race.

He needed his first race last season and he still managed to win that but it was a less competitive race than this.

Bean was a revelation last season after the application of blinkers, he won three times including here in April so he does have course form.

Bean loves really good ground and whilst he doesn’t have to lead he does like being close to the front, he’s a thorough stayer who is very honest, he wears blinkers to sharpen his jumping up as he tends to over jump without them on.

Bean is a happy horse at home, he’s quite cheeky but easy to deal with and to ride.

He will be ridden by Brendan Powell.

Jersey Wonder has been consistent since he began his hurdling campaign, from six runs he has won twice and been placed three times. His only unplaced effort came at Haydock in a more competitive race but he had excuses as the ground had gone to soft and he couldn’t handle conditions.

Jersey Wonder went away for a short holiday after his last run at Ffos Las in June but unfortunately he had a bad bout of colic whilst there, he ended up at the vets for a couple of days, thankfully he didn’t need to be operated on but we had to take things slowly with him when he first returned to Neardown which is why he hasn’t run for so long.

Jersey Wonder only does what he has to in a race, he had a busy flat career before joining us so he is pretty cute about looking after himself.

This represents a step up in class to the races he was winning in the spring but he does have to have good ground and obviously he’s too high in the handicap now for those type of events.

Jersey Wonder is a little professional at home, he’s easy to ride and he loves his schooling.

He will be ridden by Jonathan Burke.

Jersey Bean is looked after by Cameron Baker, he is ridden at home by Tara Moore.

Jersey Wonder is looked after and he will be led up by Beth Dutton who will also lead up Jersey Bean. He is ridden at home by Louie Wicks.
