Two runners today at Stratford.
6.05pm Makety runs in a handicap chase over 2m 3f.
Makety ran well on her debut over fences at Worcester last month, her jumping was very good and she just failed to give a stone and a half to a well handicapped winner.
This is a drop back in trip today around a sharp track, it looks the right race at the right time so hopefully she’ll be ok.
We still don’t know exactly what her best trip is and at times she has appeared tripless but she thoroughly deserves to win a race.
Makety is a nice filly to deal with, she can be a bit busy to ride but there’s no harm in her.
7.35pm Puffin Bay runs in a mares bumper over 2m.
Puffin Bay also ran well to finish second on her debut at Southwell, she was very laid back both in the preliminaries and the race and the penny didn’t really drop until the final furlong.
She stayed on strongly that day and she is from the family of Mighty Man who was a proper stayer himself.
Puffin Bay is not over big but she’s feisty and competitive by nature.
They will be ridden by Jonathan Burke.
Makety is looked after by Amy Deans and ridden at home by Meg Brown.
Puffin Bay is looked after by Lenka Helmecka, she is ridden at home by Kai Lenihan.
