Two runners today at Towcester.

3.00pm Financial Climate runs in a handicap chase over 3m.
Financial has been a fun horse for his owners and until this season has hardly run a bad race even though he hasn't had much respite from the handicapper, as I've said before it's difficult for these type of horses you have to keep running them to get them back to a winnable mark again but they can lose confidence being constantly beaten in competitive races with lots of runners.
Financial made an uncharacteristic bad blunder early on at Wincanton on his penultimate start, Tom felt he wasn't right and pulled up soon after, FC had blood in his nose probably as a result of the mistake. He has never bled before.
He took a while to warm to the task at Hereford last time out, he is a confidence horse so it could be that he was thinking of his previous run but he did finish third thanks to Harry Beswick's perseverance, he was very chirpy after that race so hopefully he's put his Wincanton experience behind him.
He doesn't seem to be the force he once was even though he's still as bright as ever at home so we will make a decision about his future when all of the syndicate get together this summer.
Win lose or draw this is most likely Financial's last race for me, he has been a lovely horse to train always enthusiastic and eager to please.
He was my 1,000th winner as a trainer so I will always have a soft spot for him and he is reunited with Tom Garner today who rode him on that occasion and to other memorable victories.

3.30pm Carry On Sydney runs in a handicap hurdle over 2m 3f.
I've been wanting to get Sydney on a racecourse again for ages but I couldn't run him on the quick ground we've had through the last six weeks, it's been frustrating.
Sydney has had a disappointing season apart from his first run at Wetherby, he hasn't been finishing his races and I don't know if that's because my horses just haven't been firing.
He has been in good order at home and touch wood his feet have been ok for a while now, he'll probably pull a shoe off on his way to the races now I've said that.
He is such a jinx.
This is likely to be Sydney's last run before going to Ascot sales in early June as his syndicate want to disperse.
Sydney is a star of a horse to do anything with at home, he's sweet and kind, he works extremely well and is good to ride.

Financial will by Tom Garner, he is looked after and will be led up by Peter Macek, he is ridden at home by Amy Deans.
Sydney is looked after by Harry Beswick and will be led up by Lisa Kozak, he is ridden at home by Tarnya.
