One runner today at Stratford

This will be West Coast Flyer's first race over fences and his first run since a wind operation.

West Coast Flyer won two novice hurdles last summer and I had intended to send him back over hurdles initially this season but at this time of year he would be giving plenty of weight away and his jumping is very good, so as he’s a thorough galloper I thought fences should suit him more.

West Coast is a big good looking horse who came to me after a busy flat campaign, he had a good break after his last run where he ran very flat.

I’m hopeful he can improve for that holiday and as a one paced horse I think fences will suit him as long as he can get into a good rhythm.

He will be ridden by Jonathan Burke.

West Coast is looked after and will be led up by Megan Brown, he is ridden at home by Stefan Namesansky.

With regards to last weeks runners -

Mr Dorrell Sage ran ok until the business end of the race when he faded tamely, he has been retired and his owners are going to retrain him for a new life outside of racing.

He’s a lovely horse and I’m sure he’ll be great in the ROR world, we wish him luck in his new career.

Liam felt Makety was a bit flat, she did have a break when racing was halted but maybe she needs a proper break away from the place.

She’s fine and she has returned home for a good holiday.
