21st February - Warwick & Exeter
Three runners today.
Warwick 1.25pm Brummie Boys runs in a novice hurdle over 2m 3f.
This is the final EBF qualifier and as with Sevarano at Doncaster Brummie needs to finish in the first four to be eligible to be entered in the final on March 7th.
Brummie has run well in all of his races to date but he is still on the weak side, he’s not the fastest but so far he’s looked a thorough galloper who will want this ground when he’s strong enough.
I want to get some experience into him before he goes off for a good summer holiday and if he picks up a decent race in the meantime all well and good, hence trying to get him qualified for the final of this series.
Brummie is pretty good to deal with but as with most Flemensfirth’s he can have his moments.
Unfortunatley No No Juliet has'nt eaten up over night so will be a non runner in the 4:10 pm at Warwick
Weststreet runs in the 4:20pm Devon National over 3m6f
Weststreet loves heavy ground and extreme distances, he ran ok last time at Plumpton but as he’s a hold up horse the track didn’t exactly play to his strengths, this course will suit him a lot more.
Weststreet looked good in the spring at Hexham and Perth when winning nicely, he needed his first outing this term at Carlisle and was then hampered at Kelso when pulling up on his next start.
Weststreet has been in cracking form at home of late and poor Quinten has been run away with once or twice on the gallops.
He’s a funny horse, slightly quirky and spooky to ride but he’s a kind horse in his stable.
Brummie is looked after and will be led up by Nikola Studena, Stefan Namesansky rides Brummie.
Weststreet is looked after, will “dragged up” (he’s a very strong lead up) and is ridden at home by Quinten Leceour.
