20th March - Kempton
Two runners today at Kempton.
Vinnie has shown plenty of ability in his races but he’s been inconsistent which is infuriating because he has looked good particularly when winning at Uttoxeter three runs ago.
Since his last race at Wetherby, when he ran flat, he has been treated for ulcers and I can’t say it caused him to run below par that day but because they can’t speak and you know they have ability you have to cover all options and hope to find the key.
Vinnie has had a good break, he’s fresh and well and I’m happy with him, I hope the ground rides on the better side because even though he’s won on soft ground I don’t think he really enjoys it.
Vinnie is a busy horse at home who takes no work to get fit, he likes to get on with things and he can be strong on the gallops.
Roger started his season well with a good win at Uttoxeter before being pulled up twice when having confidence crisis mid race, he then bounced back to form at Doncaster last time out when just going down by a neck.
If you knew him you would be amused that he could be beaten by that distance because he has the longest neck you’ve ever seen.
Roger had serious wind issues earlier in his career hopefully that is now behind him.
Roger is a gorgeous looking horse who is very kind in his stable and he’d sell his soul for a polo mint.
They will be ridden by Jonathan Burke.
Vinnie The Hoddie is looked after, ridden at home and he will be led up by Megan Brown.
Peur De Rien is looked after by Cameron Baker, who is still away at racing school, so he will be led up by Megan and he is ridden at home by Tarnya or Gracie O’Reilly.
