Two runners today at Wincanton.

1.15pm Jersey Lady runs in a novices hurdle over 2m 5f.
Jersey Lady won a pretty average race at Hereford on her hurdles debut last month but to be fair to her it was a cock of a race with only three runners and no pace. The runner up, who made the running, kept jamming on at her hurdles which unnerved Jersey Lady so she was very deliberate and never got into any rhythm.
This is a step up in trip today which will suit her as long as she relaxes, she got a bit keen in her bumpers but with hurdles in front of her it’s a different proposition, she was behind the bridle at Hereford, all she did was stay that day.
Jersey Lady is a straightforward filly to deal with but she can be strong at times on the gallops.
1.45pm Puffin Bay runs in a mares maiden hurdle over 2m.
Puffin Bay was only beaten a nose on her hurdles debut at Exeter after winning a bumper.
She looked very green in both of those races but she did seem better last time out at Huntingdon in a stronger run race, that was over three furlongs further and she travelled a bit too well and didn’t quite get home.
Puffin Bay is a tough filly who loves her work and schooling, she’s not a horse who likes any fuss or faff in her stable.
They will be ridden by Jonathan Burke.
Jersey Lady is looked after, will be led up,and she is ridden at home by Beth Dutton.
Puffin Bay is looked after and will be led up by Harry Brown, she is ridden at home by Shannon Pascotti.
