One runner today at Cheltenham.

Jersey Lady won her first race, a bumper at Ludlow, she showed a great attitude that day she got a bit tapped for toe turning into the hone straight before staying on strongly to the line.

This is a step up in grade but she is from a staying family so this stiffer track should suit her.

Jersey Lady is a very straightforward horse to train and she’s a nice person.

She will be ridden by Jonathan Burke.

Fontwell 1.00pm Republican runs in a novice handicap chase over 2m 5f.

Republican ran well enough on his first outing over fences at Ascot when finishing fourth.

His jumping was good in the main, he was a bit brave at one or two but he quickly learnt from it and the fences around there are big.

Republican will appreciate this longer trip today and after a nice introductory clear round I’m hopeful he can now build on that.

Republican is horizontal at home, he’s very easy to deal with and nothing bothers him.

Westreet has been ready to run for a while but I’ve been waiting for his favoured soft ground to coincide with a race over a longer trip, he’s a thorough stayer.

Westreet had a quiet season last winter but often horses like him that run over extreme distances especially on heavy ground can be like that, he didn’t run badly but he just didn’t sparkle

He has been in good form at home this autumn, he’s been trying to run away with Stefan on the gallops lately and there’s not many horses that can do that.

They will be ridden by Brendan Powell.

Cheltenham 4.05pm Grandeur D’Ame runs in a listed bumper over 2m.

Ru was impressive on his debut at Newton Abbot when winning nicely.

It was how we hoped he’d run but he is still on the weak side so I wasn’t sure if he’d be able to cope with the soft ground at this stage.

He came out of that race well and he has seemed more relaxed at home, it was a little bit of a concern first time out that he might boil over in the preliminaries as he was very gassy when he arrived here.

Ru is a sweet horse to deal with and being a full brother to Dominateur once he strengthens up he looks as if he’ll make up into a staying chaser too.

He will be ridden by Gavin Sheehan.
