14th March - Kempton & Uttoxeter
Five runners today.
This is a re organised final after the race was abandoned last weekend, I think Sandown would probably have suited Sevarano more but he did win his bumper here.
Sevarano has had a good season, he’s been consistent and the races he’s won have worked out well., I’ve put a visor on him just to get him to travel as he can run lazily in his races.
He was a good second last time out when giving ten pounds to the winner who went on to win again this week, so it was a good performance.
Republican was brave when winning at Taunton in December, he really put his head down and battled on to beat a decent favourite by a head.
Republican qualified at Ffos Las on desperate ground which he didn’t enjoy, I think this ground will be better for him and he should like the track, the winner of that race was only just beaten in the last at Cheltenham yesterday.
Republican is a year younger than Sevarano and he would have still have a bit more physical development to do but he is a horse with ability and hopefully a nice future.
Alan won nicely at Huntingdon last time out when we finally got a bit of decent ground which he loves, it was also his first race after a cauterisation of his soft palate.
The ground today will be softer than ideal but it will be better than most tracks because it’s a light soil, the track and trip will be right for him.
Sevarano will be ridden by Jonathan Burke, Republican and Cervaro will be ridden by Daryl Jacob.
Dominateur has shaped like a stayer in his two wins on soft ground at Chepstow.
His last run is best ignored because the ground had dried out so much and as a result he was taken out of his comfort zone early on, he did jump well though even though he was flat out so that’s a positive.
Obviously this is a big step up in trip and even if you think they are going to stay you never know for sure until they try, he does tend to race behind the bridle which will definitely give him every chance of getting this mammoth trip.
Broughton’s is a star, he’s been consistent all of his career but as he’s so one paced he always finds one or two to good for him.
He’s a very good jumper and a lovely honest horse to deal with.
Broughton’s will be ridden by Aidan Coleman and Dominateur by Gavin Sheehan.
Sevarano is looked after by Erin Pringle, he will be led up by Mila Lunackova and he is ridden at home by Andy Llewellyn.
Republican is looked after and will be lead up by Lenka Helmecka, he is ridden at home by Clare Robinson.
Cervaro is looked after and will be led up by Flora Alessandroni, he is ridden at home by Andy Llewellyn.
Dominateur is looked after and will be lead up by Marcel Danihel, he is ridden at home by Beth Dutton.
Broughton’s is looked after and will be led up by Gracie O’Reilly, he is ridden at home by Mila Lunackova.
