Weekend runners.

Saturday Uttoxeter.
3.50pm Newtonian runs in a bumper over 2m.
Newtonian finished second in his only race to date a bumper at Fontwell, he looked very green on that occasion and the penny didn’t really drop until the final 100yds.
As you know my bumper horses are not trained to the minute so it was an encouraging first outing.
Newtonian is a very honest out and out galloper who has schooled nicely enough so he will begin his hurdling campaign after this.
Newtonian is so laid back at home he’s completely horizontal but he does wake up a bit in his work and he goes nicely enough.
Sunday Fontwell.
2.00pm Rhebus Road runs in a juvenile hurdle over 2m.
Rhebus was disappointing on his hurdles debut at Kempton last month but I blame myself.
After his final start on the flat for Ralph Beckett; which he won, I organised for him to go straight to Henrietta Knight for ten days of intensive schooling. He then arrived back with me and I only gave him a couple of bits of work before running him, with hindsight that was a mistake.
I’ve subsequently realised that he takes a lot of work so although he was fit from the flat it takes a different fitness level over jumps, plus he’d had ten days of jumping which probably didn’t tax him too much.
Rhebus has done plenty of work and schooling since that race, his jumping was ok at Kempton but it needs to be slicker, that will come.
Rhebus is pretty laid back at home and he never stops eating, hence why he takes his work so well, he’s easy to deal with but a bit cheeky in his stable.
They will be ridden by Jonathan Burke.
Newtonian is looked after and will be led up by Shannon Pascotti, he is ridden at home by Lisa Falkowski or James Luck.
Rhebus Road is looked after and will be led up by Lisa Falkowski, he is ridden at home by Tarnya.
