Weekend runners.

One runner today at Doncaster.

Bean is having a cracking season, he’s won his last two races and his confidence is sky high.

He didn’t look convincing as a chaser before the application of blinkers, which were a recommendation of Henrietta Knight after she had him for two weeks of intensive schooling, and they have transformed him.

Bean wasn’t a bad jumper before but he was too deliberate and he took too long in the air over his obstacles.

Bean and Brendan have struck up a great partnership, they have confidence in each other and it’s lovely to see Bean enjoying his racing again.

Bean is a happy chappy at home, he’s cheeky and enthusiastic in his work.

Southwell 1.55pm Cossack Dancer runs in a maiden hurdle over 2m.

Cossack ran ok in his bumper when finishing seventh, it was nothing special but he was very gawky and green so there is a lot of improvement in him.

Cossack does think life is all a bit of a game at this stage, he has schooled well at home so hopefully he’ll now knuckle down a bit but whatever happens he is likely to continue to improve with experience.

Cossack is a very good looking horse who moves beautifully, he’s a horse you would always notice in the string.

Murphy managed to ground out a win last time out at Fontwell after a very promising debut over hurdles at Uttoxeter when finishing second.

He wasn’t hugely impressive but the trip was on the short side for him and a win is a win at the end of the day.

Murphy was very keen when he arrived at Rhonehurst, hence why I began him over 2m even though he’s going to be a stayer and Kai has done a good job of relaxing him but he still needs to chill a bit more to truly fulfil his potential.

This will come with racing, he’s getting there.

Murphy is a busy horse at home, he’s kind to deal with in his stable.

They will all be ridden by Brendan Powell.

Jersey Bean is looked after, will be led up and is ridden at home by Gracie O’Reilly.

Cossack Dancer is looked after and will be led up by Marcel Danihel, he is ridden at home by Andy Llewellyn.

Ocean Drifter is looked after and will be led up by Beth Dutton, he is ridden at home by Kai Lenihan.
