12th July - Bangor
Dorrell has been a largely disappointing horse but that has been mainly due to wind issues and last winter was pretty much a write off because of the unsuitably soft ground, he was being readied for a spring campaign when racing was halted.
Dorrell is a seriously good work horse at home and his schooling has always been fast and accurate which only adds to our frustration when he can’t seem to put it all together on a racecourse.
Dorrell can be a bit of a gassy horse and I have changed the way I train him to try and get him to relax more and breathe properly, we can’t be certain that it will make any difference but he does seem to be in cracking form, my head lad Stefan rides him every day and he has done a very good job with him.
Dorrell is a very good looking horse, he’s pretty easy to deal with and good to ride.
He will be ridden by Jonathan Burke.
Dorrell is looked after and will be led up by Marcel Danihel, he is ridden at home by Stefan Namesansky.
