Two runners today.

Plumpton 2.20pm Seaston Spirit runs in a novice hurdle over 2m 4f.
Seaston won an ordinary novice hurdle race at Fontwell on soft ground and as a result he is quite difficult to place.
Seaston ran at Towcester last time out and if I’d told Harry to ride him to be placed he might have finished second, as it was we tried to beat a decent horse and paid the penalty from the last flight.
The winner hadn’t looked that resolute previously (hence why we thought we might beat him) but is shaping up into a nice horse and could be running in the Pertemps final at Cheltenham on Thursday.

Seaston took a little while to recover from that race but he has been back to his usual cheeky ways again of late.

On official ratings he shouldn’t win this but when they reopened the race I decided to let him take his chance on ground that he likes.

He will be ridden by Harry Beswick.

NON RUNNER.........Taunton 3.10pm Versifier runs in a mares handicap hurdle over 2m.
After a couple of disappointing runs, in the latest she finished very distressed, we had Versifier’s wind checked out and it was pretty bad.
She had a hobday operation and a cauterisation, so that is basically as much as you can do with them.

Versifier has been ready to run for a couple of weeks but I have been trying to find slightly better ground for her after such a major procedure.
This trip will be on the short side for her but today is about getting back on a racecourse and gaining confidence over her breathing.

Versifier is a sweet filly, she can be feisty at times but is basically good to deal with.

She will be ridden by Tom Garner.

Seaston is looked after and will be led up by Marcel Danihel, he is ridden at at home by Erin Pringle.
Versifier is looked after and will be led by Jan Soldan, she is ridden at home by Emily Wall.
