Three runners today at Doncaster.

Roger won nicely first time out this season at Uttoxeter, it was his debut over fences and he didn’t miss a beat it was an impressive performance and the form of the race has held up.

He then went to Huntingdon and after an incident in the paddock he was at the start far longer than necessary but this was just the beginning of his woes because everywhere he went he found trouble and ended up pulling up.

A few weeks later and seemingly unperturbed from that experience he ran at Warwick where he got into a brilliant rhythm before making one mistake at the first fence in the back straight ... he then lost his head and pulled up again.

Clearly the Huntingdon experience affected him more than we realised, he is a confidence horse but he has plenty of ability and he can jump, so frustrating is an understatement.

I don’t know what will happen today, he’s been in great form at home and he’s been much more relaxed in his last few pieces of work so we’re hopeful rather than confident.

Roger is a stunning looking horse who is a total gent to deal with.

It’s not ideal to have two runners in one race but if the conditions suit both horses and the owners want to run, it happens.

A Time To Shine is a big horse who has the most unbelievable scope, he will make a much better chaser but he needs racecourse experience and he is very much a work in progress.

He’s a gentle giant and lovely to deal with.

Kaphumor is a different horse in that he’s not so backward but he ran below par first time out for us at Chepstow, he came back with a really nasty overreach which took a while to heal hence why he hasn’t run since.

He disappointed me in the way he travelled that day but I’ve no idea when he picked up his injury.

Kaphumor is a tough type, he’s good to ride and he works well.

The first two will be ridden by Brendan Powell and Kaphumor will be ridden by Tom Bellamy.

Peur De Rien is looked after and will be led up by Cameron Baker, he is ridden at home by Tarnya.

A Time To Shine is looked after and will be led up by Flora Alessandroni, he is ridden at home by Tom Britten.

Kaphumor is looked after by Kai Lenihan, he will be led up by Lenka Helmecka who also rides him at home.
