04/11/19 Plumpton

No No Maestro I was delighted with his run, I wasn’t sure how he’d handle the heavy ground but he coped with it ok and jumped very well out of it.

He just looked a bit on the weak side from the last to the line when beaten by horses with a bit more experience.

Seaston Spirit is a frustrating horse, the conditions were exactly right for him and there are no excuses.

I might give him another run but it’s likely Seaston will be entered in the next available sale and I’m sure he’d find point to pointing or hunting more to his liking.

06/11/19 Chepstow

Cilaos Glacé I was initially disappointed with his run but he did have a good blow after the race, because he does everything so easily at home he does take a lot of work and when they run on heavy ground first time out it finds them out if they’re not 100% fit.

Cilaos warmed to his jumping and because he’s so much more relaxed now we should be able to step him up in trip in the future.

07/11/19 Newbury

Got Away is another that will improve for the run, she’s a funny mare who just looks so rusty in her seasonal debuts, she definitely sharpens up and improves with racing.

Broughton’s Rhythm found everything happening a bit too quickly in a strongly run race, he took a blow half way down the back straight and then stayed on again.

I will step him up in trip next time and he’ll be better for the run.

No No Juliet had to race alone for much of this race, with two decent mares setting a very strong pace.

Her jumping was fine and she was brave to keep jumping away on her own on her first race over fences.

She’ll be better off in handicaps but it was a good starting point.

Paseo put in a tough performance on ground he would never have encountered before against older horses and on only his fourth ever race.

He will have a bit of a break now to fully recover, he’s still growing and improving all the time.

Castlegrace Rose ran perfectly well for three quarters of the race before coming to a complete halt, she didn’t even make it over the winning line.

She was a bit wobbly afterwards, which leads me to think it was a wind issue or that she swallowed her tongue.

She will be checked over but is fine post race.
