11th January - Hereford & Doncaster
Four runners today.
Hereford 12.50pm Pebby New Moon runs in a maiden hurdle over 2m 3f.
Pebbly shaped like a stayer on his only run to date, a bumper at Ffos Las, where he ran on well to finish second.
Unfortunately he picked up an injury that day and hasn’t run for 597 days.
Pebbly is as fit as I can get him at home but he will obviously improve for the outing, he’s a big horse that will make a cracking three mile chaser in time.
Pebbly is very laid back at home, he’s easy to ride and to deal with.
He will be ridden by Harry Beswick.
Windy has run with credit on both his starts under rules, he was placed in a bumper before finishing sixth on his first outing over hurdles.
Windy is very athletic over his obstacles and he works nicely enough at home.
Cossack ran well enough on his debut in a bumper at Newbury when finishing seventh, with the penny dropping late on. He then finished third in a novice hurdle at Southwell.
Cossack jumps perfectly well but he found it all so easy and he became flippant, so we sent him over to Laura Collett to do some intensive schooling, she did a good job with him and he’s grown up a lot since.
Monkey is consistent but he is a little bit frustrating, he has plenty of ability but things have to go his way to a certain extent and he prefers good ground, which we haven’t had for a wile.
Monkey is a half brother to Presenting Percy and he is a horse that needs to be fresh to be at his best, he’s had a good break now so hopefully he can give a better show.
They will be ridden by Brendan Powell.
Pebbly New Moon is looked after by Marcel Danihel, he will be led up by Andy Llewellyn and he is ridden at home by Gracie O’Reilly or Harry Beswick.
What A Glance is looked after, will be led up and he is ridden at home by Tom Britten.
Cossack Dancer is looked after and he will be led up by Marcel Danihel, he is ridden at home by Andy Llewellyn.
Monkey Puzzle is looked after, will be led up and he is ridden at home by Beth Dutton.
