Two runners today at Fontwell.

Little Awkward aka March won a bumper at the first time of asking here at Fontwell but he failed to follow that up under a penalty in horrible ground at Exeter so we decided to send him hurdling.

March jumped superbly on his debut at Plumpton to make all under a lovely ride by Brendan, unfortunately we then had niggly issues with him so he’s had an enforced break since.

Little Awkward is still on the weak side, he’s a tall good looking horse who can only improve with time. He was very flippant when we first began schooling him but after a spell with Laura Collett he’s now accurate and more importantly he concentrates on what he’s doing.

Jersey Wonder ran ok on his hurdles debut at Taunton, he lost his hind legs at the the third flight and as a result lost his confidence. Gavin gave him time to recover and he wasn’t hard on him so as he regained some confidence he ran on and stayed on well to the line.

Whilst the ground was against him we ran Jersey Wonder in two all weather bumpers at Lingfield, his first run was good but he’s a bit too cute and he didn’t try very hard last time out.

He’s a character and therefore when things go his way he’ll run well but if it’s not “his day” nothing anyone can do will change his mind.

Jersey Wonder enjoys his schooling and he always works well, he’s a loveable rogue.

They will be ridden by Jonathan Burke.
