One runner today at Leicester.

2.55pm What’s Occurring runs in a novice hurdle over 2m.
This a series qualifier for a final at Sandown on the last day of the season and the first eight qualify.

Gavin ran a blinder last time out in the Gerry Fielden on ground that he didn’t enjoy.
He looked as if he was going to be fourth when Ballymoy (who was favourite) stayed on strongly to pass him in the last furlong.
Aiden, quite rightly, didn’t want to be hard on Gavin because he is still a bit on the weak side and the going was too soft for him.

It took a while for him to get over that race and he lost a lot of weight, he spent plenty of time out in the paddock and I did hardly anything with him for a few weeks.

Gavin has a double penalty today therefore he’s giving weight away all around, the main objective is to get him qualified for the final but obviously I still want him to achieve the best possible placing.

Gavin is a gentle horse, he’s quite sensitive and used to boil over very easily but has settled right down now.

He will be ridden by Aidan Coleman.

Gavin is looked after and will be led up by Nikola Studena, he is ridden at home by Nick Bentley.
