Two runners today.

Sandown 2.20pm Rayvin Black runs in a handicap hurdle over 2m.

Rayvin finished last on his reappearance at Kempton on ground that was too lively for him, he did travel with enthusiasm though for a long time and after his brush with death it was pleasing to see.

He came back from that race fine but subsequently pulled a muscle in his back which meant he had to have a quiet week or two.

Rayvin is a difficult horse to place, he prefers to go right handed and enjoys dominating in a small field on heavy ground.

The ground today is going to be too good for him again but he’s fit and well so I might as well run him as he does love Sandown.

Rayvin is a character both at home and on a racecourse, he just does whatever he wants and no one can make him do any more.

He will be ridden by Tom Garner.

Chepstow 2.45pm Blameitalonmyroots runs in a handicap chase over 3m.

I was initially a bit disappointed with the way Ruby ran on her reappearance at Carlisle last month but after watching the race a couple of times she did get shuffled back through the field by Chef D’Oeuvre at a crucial time and by the time she had got around him the race had gone and Tom was not hard on her.

She wouldn’t have won from there but she would have been closer.

She came back from that race fine, we always give her a good break between her races because of the effort she puts in, she spends plenty of time out in the field and we just freshen her back up.

Ruby is a lovely honest type, she’s stunning to look at and she doesn’t behave like a mare at all in fact when she’s out in the field with her girls she’s more like a colt, she stands up on her hind legs and herds them.

She will be ridden by Leighton Aspell.

Rayvin is looked after and will be led up by Marcel Danihel and he is ridden at home by Lisa Kozak.

Ruby is looked after and will be led up by Gracie O’Reilly, she is ridden at home by Tarnya.
