Two runners today at Leicester.

2.40pm Icing On The Cake runs in a handicap chase over 2m 4f.
Icing was disappointing when last seen in a decent race at Ascot in December, that was his first attempt at three miles but the trip had nothing to do with his poor show.
He travelled and jumped nicely that day until a mile from home where he took off too early and landed on the fence, he must have winded himself because he came off the bridle immediately, he did finish but was found to be lame when he got back to the racecourse stables.
Icing does have a very exuberant jump in him and obviously that can occasionally backfire, as it did here.
He took a while to come right again after that race, he’s always been delicate to train, but I have had a clear run with him recently and he’s done plenty of work.

Icing is enthusiastic in all that he does, he’s keen on the gallops and bounces all the way to and from the downs.

He will be ridden by Leighton Aspell.

4.20pm Rouge Et Blanc runs in a hunter chase over 2m.
It was fantastic to see Rouge return to the winners enclosure last time out, he basically ran away with Pippa from start to finish and they both thoroughly enjoyed themselves, Pip got a real tune out of him and he jumped well for her.
Rouge has been his usual naughty self at home since and after he schooled yesterday he took off with Pippa on the way home, not the way you expect a 13yo to behave.

This race is over two miles, which is unusual for a hunter chase, he has won over this trip and he will love the heavy ground so let’s hope he and Pippa can continue enjoying their racing together.

Hopefully he will be going to Aintree for the fox hunters after this, which will be a lifetime ambition for Pip to have a spin over those fences.

He will be ridden by Pippa Glanville.

Icing is looked after by C.J. he is ridden at home by Andy Llewelyn.
Rouge is looked after by Peter Macek who will lead them both up, Rouge is ridden at home by Pippa.

The video below shows them both schooling yesterday ridden by today’s jockeys.
Schooling along with them were Minella On Line, yellow cap of Conor Shoemark and Morning Reggie (grey) white cap of Harry Beswick.
