Two runners today at Chepstow.

1.25pm Cilaos Glacé runs in a maiden hurdle over 2m.
Cilaos was sent to me by Heart Of The South Racing because of my equine pool, he had encountered problems in training previously so they wanted to give him every chance.
I think he may just have been suffering from growing pains though because we have not had one single day of worry with him.

Cilaos was very strong in his only race to date, a bumper at Kempton, to be fair to Josh Moore it appeared beforehand there would be a lot of pace on and when there wasn’t he ran far too freely and didn’t get home.

Cilaos works extremely well but he is definitely a work in progress, he gallops in behind other horses at home and he is fine but as soon as he gets upsides them he can be very strong.

Leighton (I’m sure) will walk him out of the gate and try to relax him, if that works he will run well.
It could take him a couple of runs to learn to relax, or he may always be too keen....we won’t know until we see him on a racecourse but he does have talent and if we can harness that we have nice horse.

He will be ridden by Leighton Aspell.

3,40pm Dominateur runs in a maiden hurdle over 2m 3f.
Dominateur really annoyed me with the way he jumped on his first start over hurdles at Towcester when finishing third.
He had run well in a bumper previously and he had always schooled nicely at home.
Dominateur looked seriously green that day and there is huge improvement in him.
He is workmanlike at home, not flash but he is honest and I’m sure there are races in him.

Dominateur is an easy horse to deal with at home, easy to ride and kind in his stable.

He will will be ridden by Gavin Sheehan.

Cilaos is looked after and will be led up by Jana Stefanova, he is ridden at home by Nick Bentley.
Dominateur is looked after and will be led up by Marcel Danihel, he is ridden at home by Charlotte Reid.
