Three runners today at Exeter.

Volturnus in the Handicap Hurdle at 4:00pm

Volturnus only had one run for us last season when finishing a creditable fourth at Ffos Las, he picked up an injury subsequently and this is his first run since.

Volturnus works nicely at home, as a result he does everything so easily so he will definitely improve for this outing.

He’s a horse that schools well and will go on to make a chaser.

Volturnus is a laid back individual at home and he’s easy to deal with.

Monkey Puzzle in the Novices Handicap Chase at 4:30pm

Monkey put up a brave performance last time out when winning at Fontwell.

It was only his second run over fences and Fontwell can be tricky but he was clever, he stayed extremely well and he really wanted to win.

Monkey has not enjoyed the best of luck previously, nothing serious but enough to limit his racecourse appearances so hopefully he has plenty of improvement to come.

Monkey is as I’ve said before, a bit of a boy at home but there’s no harm in him and Beth loves him.

Little Awkward in the Natinal Hunt Flat Race at 5:00pm

Little Awkward won his only race to date, a bumper at Fontwell.

He travelled nicely that day and put up a good performance, the form hasn’t worked out to date but I’m sure he’s improved.

Little Awkward is a flashy looking grey, he’s a good moving horse who does everything nicely at home.

They will be ridden by Jonathan Burke.

Volturnus is looked after and ridden at home by Kai Lenihan, he’ll be led up by Mila Lunackova.

Monkey is looked after, ridden at home and will be led up by Beth Dutton.
