Two runners today at Warwick.

Laurie was very disappointing last time out at Exeter for no apparent reason, the ground was horrible but I wouldn’t necessarily use that as an excuse. Previous to that his first two runs over hurdles had shown promise.

Laurie is a lazy type of horse who will make up into a staying chaser eventually, he’s had little racing for a six year old but he was initially very backward and suffered from continual lung infections as a youngster.

Laurie is a good looking son of Robin Des Champs, he’s laid back but cheeky in nature.

Book won nicely here in early December under a brilliant ride by Leighton, he got him into a great rhythm, he jumped well and it never looked in doubt.

The following race is best ignored, he missed the break and then decided it was all a bit too much like hard work and I’m afraid he didn’t try over hard.

Book is frustrating at times, he does have ability but he does also need to be in the right frame of mind.

He usually jumps well and he loves heavy ground.

Book is a bit of a heavy headed horse to ride at home, he can be strong on occasions, there’s no harm in him these days but he did have a fierce buck in him as a youngster.

They will be ridden by Jonathan Burke.

Laurie is looked after and will be led up by Beth Dutton, who usually rides him at home.
