One runner today at Exeter.

Puffin Bay won a bumper on her second start at Stratford in good style to become our first Neardown winner. I had toyed with the idea of saving her for a listed mares bumper to try and pick up some black type but there aren’t any for a while and as she’s ready to roll and wouldn’t handle soft ground we might as well try and pick up what we can.

Puffin Bay is not over big but she’s athletic over an obstacle and she’s done plenty of schooling.

She’s a tough, feisty filly with a good pedigree so whatever she does on a racecourse will enhance her future as a broodmare at some stage.

Puffin Bay is straightforward to deal with, she doesn’t like fuss or faff.

She will be ridden by Daryl Jacob.

Puffin Bay is looked after and will be led up by Lenka Helmecka, she is ridden at home by Amy Deans.
