6th November - Warwick & Fontwell
Three runners today.
Fontwell 12.50pm Ocean Drifter runs in a maiden hurdle over 2m 2f.
Murphy ran a blinder on his debut over hurdles for us at Uttoxeter when finishing second to an odds on favourite.
He jumped nicely on that occasion and more importantly he settled well which was encouraging because he could be a bit keen and buzzy at home.
Murphy took that race in his stride and he seems much more relaxed now at home.
Murphy is pretty easy to deal with, he was keen on the gallops but Kai has done a good job with him and he’s good now.
Bembridge is a very laid back son of Westerner, he doesn’t burn up the gallops but he goes well enough and he gives me the impression he’ll be a relentless galloper.
Bembridge has the most wonderful attitude, nothing bothers him and he’s kind and very good to ride.... Flora adores him.
They will be ridden by Jonathan Burke.
Warwick 2.10pm Peur De Rien runs in a handicap chase over 3m 1f.
Roger had all sorts of traffic problems last time out at Huntingdon and after being jumped into at the second fence he just never got into any rhythm at all, it’s not the first time I’ve seen that happen in a fast run race around there.
Fortunately it didn’t affect his confidence at all, he’s continued to school well at home and he’s been very fresh for the last ten days, desperate for another run.
Roger is a stunning looking horse who is easy to deal with in his stable but he can get a bit gassy out on the downs at times ...you just need to keep a lid on him.
He will be ridden by Brendan Powell.
Ocean Drifter is looked after by Beth Dutton, he is ridden at home by Kai Lenihan.
Bembridge is looked after and ridden at home by Flora Alessandroni,
Peur De Rien is looked after and will be led up by Cameron Baker, he is ridden at home by Tarnya.
