Four runners today at Warwick & Fontwell.

Fontwell runners

Walk In The Wild is a big scopey horse who has been mentally and physically immature to train, the penny started to drop with him last season and he came back from his summer break looking fantastic.

Wilfred will get further than this and he’ll make up into a better chaser but this is a good starting point for this season.

Wilfred is good to ride at home and a kind horse in his stable.

Cilaos Glace (or Booty) was a difficult horse to train last season with on off lameness issues so after his first outing where he ran well I never had a clear run with him between his races and as a result he became disappointing.

So far this season he has been fine ???? his schooling and working have been good, so we now just have to hope he reproduces the form of that first race.

Cilaos is a big good looking horse who was nicknamed booty by one of his owners young daughters because of his resemblance to Black Beauty and she couldn’t say the whole name properly ??

They will be ridden by James Bowen.

Warwick Runners

Nazwa has steadily improved with each outing and this is his first run in a handicap where he gets a good weight for age allowance.

Nazwa was a pretty grumpy uncooperative horse when he first arrived here, he’s much better now and he works and schools nicely at home. I think jumping has definitely improved his attitude to training.

Nazwa is fine to ride at home, quite lazy at times but good in his work.

Republican was desperately unlucky to suffer a horrible fall at the last hurdle at Perth in the spring with the race at his mercy, we still don’t know exactly what he did because he jumped the flight ok we think he might have crossed his front legs (which is unusual but can happen) to bring himself down. Whatever he did it was a horrible fall that he and Johnny were lucky to walk away from.

Republican is one of the most natural jumpers you will ever see so the fall came as a big shock to him and we had to go carefully with his schooling when he first came back into training but it didn’t take long for the confidence to return.

He’s carrying a lot of weight today but I think the track will suit him and he did run well off a big weight last season at Fontwell when just being beaten.

I think he’s got a decent race in him somewhere this winter now he’s a physically stronger horse.

Republican is a lovely horse to deal with, kind and honest but he can be a bit of a boy to ride when he’s fresh.

They will be ridden by Jonathan Burke.

Walk In The Wild is looked after and will be led up by Marcel Danihel, he is ridden at home by Harry Brown.

Cilaos Glace is looked after and will be led up by Shannon Pascotti, he is ridden at home by Stefan Namesansky.

Republican is looked after, will be led up and he is ridden at home by Cameron Baker.

Nazwa is looked after, will be led up and he is ridden at home by Beth Dutton.
