One runner today at Wincanton.

Cilaos has had a wind operation since his last race.

He didn’t make a noise at Leicester but we were suspicious that he had cut out so quickly so we had him checked out.

With hindsight he didn’t get home in his first race either but we thought that was a lack of race fitness on the soft ground.

Cilaos showed potential last season but because he was such a keen horse he had been a work in progress, we thought he would go on to be a better chaser as he’s a big type who has always schooled so nicely.

He’s been due to run several times over the last couple of weeks only for the meeting to be abandoned and as he’s had time off due to wind surgery we’ve decided to revert to hurdles today, it’s pointless winning a novice chase now.

Cilaos is a big, good looking horse, he was very keen when he first arrived here but he’s a lot more chilled now.

He will be ridden by Jonathan Burke.

Cilaos is looked after, will be led up and is ridden at home by Gracie O’Reilly.
