One runner today at Kempton, this is a jumpers bumpers meeting which has been added because of the bad weather we endured last week.

Poor Sting he ran really nicely on his debut this season after a long lay off when finishing a good third at Bangor.

His luck then changed and he ended up on the floor in his next two races through no real fault of his own, he over jumped and caught the heels of another horse at the first at Huntingdon and was then mullered by a loose horse at Ludlow when traveling nicely into the race.

After that I decided to give him a run over hurdles to try and regain some confidence, he was cantering turning into the straight at Sandown before stopping to a walk between the last two hurdles and falling at the last.... he didn’t deserve that.

I was suspicious of how quickly he stopped that day so we had his wind checked out and he needed a cauterisation of his soft palate.

Sting is a horse with enormous potential but his confidence was so low after Sandown I really wasn’t sure what to do with him, he’s had his wind operation and a good break so when they decided to put on a card like this I thought it was the perfect opportunity for him to have a gallop around and enjoy a race

Sting is the kindest most gentle horse you could meet, he’s a tall very good looking son of Scorpion and he did win a bumper before I bought him.

He deserves a bit of luck now.

He will be ridden by Leighton Aspell.

Sting is looked after and will be led up by Hannah Benson, he is ridden at home by Chloe Boxall.
