Weekend runners.

Saturday.
Chepstow 1.22pm Springtown Lake runs in a handicap chase over 2m 7f.
Springtown has been a decent horse for Phillip Hobbs running consistently well for many years and after a good run first time out last season his form then tailed off.
It was Phillip’s suggestion to his owner Tim Syder that Springtown might benefit from a change of scenery, so he joined us here in the autumn.

He’s always run well fresh and he’s been ready to run for a while now but I’ve been waiting for his favoured soft ground.
I’m aware his best form is over two furlongs less than this but he works like a three mile chaser at home and ground is important to him hence the reason for coming here.

Springtown has been in good order at home, he’s a nice person who is very easy to deal with.

He will be ridden by Sean Bowen.

Sandown 3.00pm Seaston Spirit runs in the London National over 3m 4f.
Keith pulled up on his debut this season at Ffos Las in a race he’d won first time out the season before. Unfortunately this time he was carrying nearly two stone more and on that ground with my horses all needing a run it found him out.
He came back from there fresh and well and he hasn’t missed a beat since, he even had half a days hunting three weeks ago when Megan took him out with The Berks & Bucks Draghounds.

Keith is a character at home and he’s either lazy in his work or running away depending on his mood, he was quite naughty to ride as a youngster but he’s settled down now.

Some of you might remember an old horse of ours called Eric’s Charm who won this race a couple of times the last time aged 13, he loved soft ground too and I just hope they get the rain that was forecast earlier in the week but is now not certain to arrive.

He will be ridden by Sam Twiston Davies.

Sunday Huntingdon.
1.17pm Bembridge runs in a conditional jockeys handicap hurdle over 2m 4f.
Bembridge ran out through the wing at Southwell last time out, it was completely out of character for him he’s never even looked at a wing before and he regularly leads when schooling.
He schooled again on Thursday and was fine so maybe it was a case of something catching his eye and hopefully it will end up being a one off.

Bembridge is a horse with plenty of ability who will make up into an even better chaser, he has been mentally immature to train which is why he’s still over hurdles for now to gain some more experience.

Bembridge is a kind horse to deal with and good to ride, although he can be keen at times.

He will be ridden by Alfie Jordan.

3.27pm Peur De Rien runs in a handicap chase over 3m.
Roger finished fourth on his debut this season at Worcester last month, he got very tired that day on ground that was given as good to soft but ended up being pretty bottomless.
That was over half a mile less, he raced up with the pace and jumped brilliantly but Sam thought he was travelling just out of his comfort zone which contributed to him weakening quickly in the home straight.

Roger is a confidence horse who loves to get into a nice rhythm in his races, his jumping is usually exceptional and even though he’s won over a shorter trip an easy three miles is probably his best distance.

Roger is a very good looking, tall horse who is easy to deal with.

He will be ridden by Jonathan Burke.

Springtown Lake is looked after and will be led up by Harry Brown, he is ridden at home by Alfie Jordan or Cameron Baker.
Seaston Spirit is looked after and will be led up by Marcel Danihel, he is ridden at home by Megan Brown or very occasionally James Luck
Bembridge is looked after and will be led up by Marcel Danihel, he is ridden at home by Tara Moore.
Peur De Rien is looked after and will be led up by Cameron Baker, he is ridden at home by Tarnya.
