4th December - Plumpton
Four runners today at Plumpton.
Pete ran a cracker first time out at Huntingdon when finishing a close second to a horse that has won again subsequently.
He has improved for that race, not so much in fitness but he’s sharper for it.
Pete is pretty straightforward although he’s not a type you would work too hard at home or he can worry, he’s a confidence horse.
What’s Occurring (Gavin) ran nicely in his first race, a bumper at Newbury when finishing fifth,.
He was tenderly ridden by Leighton because we were worried how he would take it all, he is a horse that can get upset easily and panic so it was imperative he enjoyed the experience.
He took the preliminaries and the race well and he has been fine at home since.
Gavin works well at home and his schooling is good but he can be a bit flippant at times.
Gavin is a gentle horse in his stable and Alex has done a good job with him by keeping him as relaxed as possible at exercise.
Fight Commander ran ok at Kempton first time out, the ground was lively enough for him and after being outpaced he stayed on to be fourth.
The ground today will hopefully suit him more, he is refitted with the cheek pieces to help him travel and it’s an extended 3 miles which will play to his strengths.
Fight Commander is a very good jumper and he’s a good work horse at home.
Seaston ran a blinder in his first race at Ascot when finishing a close third behind Jersey Bean, he got his head in front a furlong out and just lacked the experience of the others.
It was a likeable performance and he came home thinking he was the bees knees.
Seaston is a good looking horse, he’s a tough type which is typical his sire Kayf Tara, he’s a nice horse for the future.
They will be ridden by Leighton Aspell.
Pete is looked after and will be led up by Peter Macek, he is ridden at home by Tarnya.
What’s Occurring and Seaston Spirit are looked after by Harry Beswick and they will be led up by Peter Tuma, What’s Occurring is ridden by Alex Bell and Seaston is ridden by Erin Pringle who also rides out Fight Commander he is looked after by Marcel Danihel and will be led up by Peter Macek.
