One runner today at Uttoxeter.

Manning Estate in the 3:16pm

Flash, as he is known, will be always be fondly remembered by us as being Leighton’s last winner when he won at Doncaster in the spring.

Although at the time we didn’t know Lash was considering retirement.

Flash is as his name suggests a good looking, good moving horse who has been schooling over fences in anticipation of a novice chase campaign this season.

There are no suitable races for him over fences at the moment and because he’s a confidence horse, I thought a spin over hurdles would suit him to get rid of the cobwebs.

Flash works nicely at home and he’s in good form, as long as the ground doesn’t come up a bog (in which case he might not run) I think he’ll give a good account, he will improve for the outing but he’s fit enough if he’s good enough in this competitive handicap.

Flash was a bit of a boy as a youngster but he’s grown up now and is very straightforward to deal with, he’s a kind horse to look after.

He will be ridden by Daryl Jacob.

Manning Estate is looked after, is ridden at home and will be led up by Flora Alessandroni.
