One runner today at Bangor On Dee.

2.45pm It's A Sting runs in a novice handicap chase over 2m 2f.

Sting didn't fire when last seen in three runs over fences after being consistent over hurdles the previous season for us.

He wasn't with me last season so I'm not sure why he didn't run but it wasn't a tendon injury.

He is a very big good looking horse which is typical of his sire Scorpion.

I do think Scorpions are generally better over a trip but Sting can be gassy and keen so I wanted to start him over this shorter trip today as he is likely to be fresh after such a long lay off.

He is a lightly raced horse who is open to improvement.

Sting hasn't run for 587 days and whilst he has done plenty of work at home he does everything very easily so he is bound to improve for the race, he is usually a very good jumper.

He is a gentle horse to do anything with but he can be strong on the gallops.

Sting will be ridden by Leighton

He is looked after and will be led up by Hannah Benson he is ridden at home by Andy Llewellyn.
