Weekly Report
03/01/20 weekly runners review.
27/01/20 Plumpton
Castlegrace Rose - she was very disappointing, I’m sure she’s better than this and we are doing thorough checks to see if anything comes to light.
29/01/20 Leicester
The Fresh Prince - Leighton thought he’d lost his action and pulled him up, he was fine by the time he had come to a walk and the vets confirmed this.
He was absolutely fine the next day and his legs are cold.
He’ll run again fairly soon.
Ventura Dragon - was desperately unlucky, he just plugged in the ground and fell.
Who knows how he’d have run but the way the first two had pulled clear I’d like to think he’d at least have been second.
He deserves a bit of luck.
30/01/20 Ffos Las
Republican - ran ok, he probably wasn’t totally in love with the ground and he met a progressive horse who is a year older than him.
31/01/20 Chepstow
Seaston Spirit - he didn’t really run his race, initially I thought the race was a bit competitive for him but he didn’t eat up overnight and he’s been a bit quiet since, so that was probably a bit harsh.
Shaughnessy - struggled on the desperate ground and was found to be suffering from a fibrillating heart post race.
He’s being assessed and it’s very treatable.
01/02/20 Wetherby
Dominateur - the ground had dried out and it was virtually good up the home straight, prefers soft/heavy ground.
He did jump well except for one mistake at the first in the straight when the race was just developing, Leighton wasn’t hard on him after that.
