Two runners tonight at Ffos Las. 6.00pm Papagana runs in a mares novice hurdle over 2m. I was initially disappointed with Papagana last time out at Southwell but it was a messy race where they went no gallop and less than ten lengths covered the first ten home. She needed a stronger run race because all she does is gallop, annoying but that’s racing. Papagana had shown promise in her first ...

Three runners tonight at Warwick. 5.05pm Mr Dorrell Sage runs in a novice hurdle over 2m. Dorrell Sage may have only just got up on the line at Fontwell but there was a lot to like about the performance. It was his first run over hurdles yet he was very slick and quick over the obstacles, he traveled nicely and most importantly after his recent wind op, he really finished his race well. We hoped ...

Two runners today at Huntingdon. 4.20pm The Groovy Hoovy runs in a handicap hurdle over 2m 4f. Groovy had run ok in three hurdle races through the winter on ground that wasn’t ideal for him. He then made his reappearance, after two months, on better ground at Stratford in a handicap, he’s a lazy horse by nature so we knew he’d improve for the outing not so much in fitness but h...

Four runners today. Bangor. 3.25pm Road To Rome runs in a handicap chase over 2m 4f. Romeo has taken well to jumping fences and he has been consistent in his new role as a chaser, being placed in all three runs to date. He was a very keen horse in his early hurdling career so he was having to run over two miles to help him to settle, he was crying out for further and now that he has learned to re...

Two runners this evening at Aintree. 5.35pm Valdas Princess runs in a mares handicap hurdle over 2m 4f. Valdas ran better than the bare form suggests at Stratford on her last outing. It was over two miles around a sharp track and she was flat out from start to finish but she did keep galloping to the line. This race is over half a mile further but it is a more competitive race as there weren&rsq...

Seaston is absolutely fine post race, I’m slightly annoyed with him for missing the break the way he did, he looked like he was only just broken in...broncing away from the start....what a plonker. He then traveled nicely into the race before bring brought down. I wasn’t going to run him again but I hate to finish on that note. I’ll school him next week and if we get some decen...

One runner tonight at Warwick. 6.30pm Seaston Spirit runs in a handicap hurdle over 2m 5f. Seaston was consistent last season winning once and being placed in all of his races, he showed a lovely willing attitude but could occasionally be a bit flippant at his hurdles, I think he’ll jump a fence better because he will have more respect for them. He may find that racing in a handicap hurdle ...

One runner today at Huntingdon. 2.00pm Working Class runs in a novice handicap hurdle over 2m. Working Class was unlucky not to finish fourth on his most recent outing around here when unseating Harry at the final flight. His jumping is normally very good, It was a nothing sort of mistake, just one of those annoying things that can happen. Working Class has been a bit of a work in progress due t...

Three runners tonight at Fontwell. 5.45pm Fort Smith runs in a handicap chase over 3m 2f. Fort Smith has had a quiet winter, being by Presenting he has to have good ground. He disappointed on his only start for me at Huntingdon last November but that was on softer ground than he would enjoy. Fort Smith was formerly owned by Gigginstown Stud and was sold on when he had reached a handicap mark ...
